Neil Perrier has provided a vast array of legal services to some of Canada’s largest regulatory bodies including, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. Perrier Law also represents professional members being investigated or prosecuted by their regulatory bodies including lawyers, doctors, physiotherapists, chiropractors, pharmacists and other professionals. The legal services provided by Perrier Law include, but are not limited to:

1. acting as counsel at disciplinary hearings, capacity and registration hearings before administrative tribunals and in enforcement proceedings before the courts;
2. conducting effective cross-examinations of a large variety of expert witnesses including, physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, engineers and accountants;
3. acting as counsel on judicial reviews and appeals before the courts;
4. acting as counsel for physicians in hospital privilege matters;
5. representing physicians in workplace harassment investigations;
6. effectively drafting all forms of legal pleadings including notices of hearings, notices of judicial review, notices of appeal, facta of law;
7. providing sound and strategic legal advice to investigators on a wide variety of investigative, evidentiary, statutory and jurisdictional issues;
8. providing sound and strategic legal advice to Registrars/CEOs, officers and representatives of regulatory bodies;
9. providing sound and strategic legal advice to Councils and standing committees (e.g. Executive Committee, Complaints Committee, Registration Committee) on a wide variety of professional regulatory issues;
10. providing sound advice on the legal implications of by-laws and regulations, including advice on the impact of draft by-laws and regulations on disciplinary, registration and enforcement proceedings;
11. drafting rules and procedures for disciplinary and registration proceedings; and
12. responding on behalf of regulatory bodies to enquiries from the media about disciplinary proceedings.
